CADEC+ has ProDef Tool which is useful for variant planning. Even before creating any master models, the designer can define shape and size variables, design calculation rules, parts, features and parameters to be created in master model. Further, the ProDef tool creates a dummy application using this planning information. It can be tested for calculation and validation correctness and desired user interface.
The ProDef information can be modified to get any change in inputs, calculations, model linking.
Further, product classification is a powerful technique to simplify the product functionality into meaningful alternatives and allowing the end client to choose the best suitable combination of alternatives. Configurator helps in defining the alternatives and then mapping CAD geometry to the alternatives to get the desired output.
CADEC+ allows you to define your product in terms of mandatory and optional geometries. Each classification (shape variable) has multiple options (shape values). Optional geometries can be linked to the shape values. Even materials, colors, configurations drawing formats can be optional.
